About Us

For ten years, GIRD Systems, Inc., with close ties to universities, has applied the latest digital signal processing algorithms to some of the toughest problems faced by the USA military. GIRD has implemented solutions to: increase wireless network security at the physical layer, allow simultaneous communication between friendly forces while jamming IED detonators, allow soldiers to determine their location from their handheld radios in GPS-denied environments, determine the direction of enemy transmitters regardless of signal characteristics, linearize RF power amplifiers (PA) to allow one PA to handle the transmission of multiple radio channels, extend the range of digital communication systems without redesigning radio hardware, process larger contiguous bandwidths than traditional systems, and many more. Our staff is well published and with textbooks written on digital signal processing.

Our solutions are implemented in firmware IP blocks that are licensed to end-equipment manufacturers and are available in formats supporting many popular ICs. GIRD provides documentation, training, and engineering support to make integration as simple as possible - and GIRD offers turnkey design services. It's feasible that no new hardware is required on existing products to achieve higher performance and greater customer satisfaction. Other times, only larger capacity devices are required without a complete circuit redesign.

Our implementations process signals on-channel and at RF speeds - in some cases into the tens of gigahertz range. We also know how to pack the most functionality into the smallest devices.

GIRD follows a proven project management discipline and employs project managers who passed project management certification tests. It will adjust its process to accommodate any special needs of its customers in any part of the design cycle from requirements definition to production launch and follow-on support.
